Step 1: Creating a Beautiful & Natural Shape
As we age, we lose collagen under the skin creating sunken areas which make us look older, sadder and tired.  Let me explain, when the area between the nose and the chin sink in, for example, we look like we are frowning all the time. Even though we are NOT sad, our facial expression is forever stuck in a sad frown. Dermal filler is the best way to improve this volume lost. It immediately replaces the lost collagen.

We have all seen dermal fillers done badly but done correctly it is a beautiful way to restore the natural shape of the face. And that is the key natural shape of the face.

In the first part of the Vampire Facelift® procedure we evaluate the areas of the face that have lost volume.  We use dermal fillers in a very specific way to sculpt a younger appearing face, while maintaining the natural shape of the face.

As a certified Vampire Facelift® provider, we take into account the mathematics of beauty (Golden Proportion). The idea of using the face’s mathematical Golden Proportion are not commonly known or used. Using Golden Proportion is part of the intellectual property protected by the trademarked name, Vampire Facelift®.

After creating a younger, natural shape, we draw blood to harvest and concentrate all the natural growth factors which stimulate the natural healing process. Hence the name Vampire Facelift®.

Step 2: Isolating & Activating the Magic from Your Blood
First, we draw a small amount of blood. Then, using a centrifuge, the blood is spun for about 15 minutes and the platelets are separated from the red blood cells.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is the portion of the blood that naturally stimulates the healing cascade.  It contains at least 15 healing factors called growth factors. These growth factors stimulate the healing process.

Imagine you have skinned your knee. Think about what happens next. Without even thinking about it, a clot forms making a scab. How did this happen? Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)!  PRP directs the cells to form the scab and then heal.

Within a week, you glance at your knee and it is healed. New skin is covering the knee. The scab is gone and you all but forgot you even hurt yourself. This is the miracle of PRP.

PRP contains at least 15 growth factors that activate and direct the healing cascade. The growth factors are the conductors of healing attracting stem cells to the injured area and directing them what cell to morph into. A phenomenal event that we take for granted.
We are using this natural phenomenon to concentrate those miraculous healing factors into the face. These healing factors, almost like magic, Restore, Rejuvenate and Refresh the face.

Step 3: Injecting the Magic into Your Face
Using numbing cream and a very, very tiny needle (for almost no pain), we inject your activated PRP (your own growth factors) into your face, in a particular way. These growth factors activate the healing process. We are kind of tricking the body into healing as if it was injured. The body dutifully generates new tissue, creates collagen (increasing smoothness) and creates new blood vessels (for a new glow).

We do not really care what you wash your face with, but we do care what  you put on your skin after you clean your face. It is super important how you hydrate your skin, as well as, stimulating the deep layers of the dermis to turnover and make new cells.

Facial Shape

As we age, we lose collagen under the skin, so then the skin collapses toward the bone, and then the skin wrinkles. But you can reverse this natural process by putting collagen back into the collapsing areas.

Dermal fillers either add hyaluronic acid, HA or calcium hydroxylapetite which are both found naturally in the body. They lift the skin away from the bone to restore a more youthful volume and shape. This takes an artistic eye. Some injectors distort the shape by chasing wrinkles or not truly understanding the normal shape of the human face. This is why you have seen some woman look ridiculous or even foreign to the planet, as Dr. Runels says.

Beauty is mathematical. Yes, really it is. I learned this in dentistry many years ago. It is called the Golden Proportion. You know it as soon as you see it distorted. The ratio is 1 to 1.62.

In dentistry, we have a gauge called the Golden Mean Gauge. It is a double pronged instrument that measures one tooth as 1.6 and the other as 1. A front tooth should be 1.6 and the lateral tooth next to it is 1.

But this ratio holds true through out nature and more importantly for the face. If we measure what we find beautiful, it always follows this ratio. I will show you.

This is called the Marquardt Beauty Mask for females. It is a map of the Golden Proportion of 1 to 1.618 of every facial feature compared to the rest of the face. The absolutely amazing thing is race does not matter at all. Here are some examples,

The one area that makes a huge impact is adding cheeks. A depression develops from the inner eye at a diagonal to the cheek which makes us look tired and old.

Don’t you just hate it when someone comments on how tired you look and you are not tired at all? The cheek area under the eye is one area which gives you an enormous boost to looking and feeling good.

Another great area is the ‘marionette’ lines. They are the lines starting from the corner of your mouth and going down the sides of your chin. These make us look mean and droopy and sad.

These lines can be rather deep depending on the shape of your mouth and any tooth loss.

The nasolabial area is from the corner of the nose to the mouth. Using filler on these depressions depends on what your cheeks look like. It is OK to have some shadowing on the face. I think this is the mistake other injectors make – trying to chase every shadow and every wrinkle and distort the shape of the face. This is plain ugly. You all have seen it with Hollywood actresses who do not look better, but worse after cosmetic dermal filler. Less is more in this situation. And the injector must follow the Golden Proportion Rules. (Because they are the rules!!!) My personal goal is to make everyone look like themselves, only a refreshed version. It is simple: follow the rules.

Dermal filler (collagen) does a fantastic job of improving the face shape but it does not address skin texture or skin tone. To improve smoothness and the glow of the skin we have had tremendous success with PRP (platelet rich plasma). There are at least 15 growth factors that stimulate renewal of skin.
